Two Individuals Charged with Prison Murder of Ex-Lostprophets Vocalist Ian Watkins

Two men have been formally charged with murder after the jailhouse death of former Lostprophets singer and adjudicated child sex criminal Ian Watkins.

Samuel Dodsworth, 43, and Rashid Gedel, 25 now face murder accusations and are scheduled to appear in Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, according to police authorities.

Watkins, 48, was serving a 29-year sentence at HMP Wakefield, with a further six years to be served on licence, after admitting a string of sex offences among them the tried rape of a very young child.

Watkins was apprehended subsequent to a drugs warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a significant quantity of computers, mobile phones and data storage units were taken as evidence.
